Alan Strang, Teaching Professional Golden Valley Golf and Country Club, Minneapolis, MN. Al is a Class A PGA Professional and has been on the staff at Golden Valley Country Golf & Country Club since 2002. He has been the head teaching professional at Golden Valley since 2006. Al discovered early on that his passion in the golf business is teaching. Over the years, he has worked hard on developing his teaching skills. Al has a unique style of teaching. His philosophy is to keep it simple, and his teaching and communication style direct and clear. He focuses on taking what his students do well and improving those skills. Al knows that every golf swing is different. He does not teach a method, or give essentially the same lesson to each person. He adapts his lesson to the students needs. Additionally, Al does not believe in overwhelming a student with so many tips that they feel paralyzed after the lesson. Al believes his students should be able to implement his suggestions and show improvement in their golf swings and in their games immediately. In order to achieve his goals of becoming the best teaching pro he can be, Al takes the best of his mentors and peers teaching philosophies and melds them into his own philosophy. The instructors who have influenced Al reads like a whos who in the world of golf. He has worked with and learned from the likes of Jim Flick, Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter, Jimmy Ballard, Tom Lehman, Bobby Clampett and Rocco Mediate. Each of those renowned instructors has had a positive impact on Als philosophy. Locally has written instruction articles for Twin Cities Business Magazine and produced instruction videos for KARE 11 News. In 2012 and 2013, he was a Minnesota Section of the PGA nominee for Teacher of the Year. Al is a Premier Taylor Made Club Fitter and utilizes the most modern launch monitor and video teaching systems to enhance your learning experience. Contact Al at: or 952-200-3580 or 732-4140
